Change For The Better
I am delighted to confirm that the HMI Annual Conference entitled ‘Change for the Better’will take place in the RDS on Wednesday September 30, 2015. So please keep this date and diary it for attendance. Last year over 300 delegates attended our conference which was a great success and also included the presentation of the inaugural Leadership Awards for the Health Service. Both events were huge successes and we hope to build on last years’ success by taking both events to higher levels this year.
As I raised previously, the Council of the HMI, with our partners SHRC, have continued to develop our training and educational programmes for 2015, as we believe well trained, committed managers and staff have, and continue to, make the difference and have been pivotal to the successful delivery of our healthcare services as we emerge from the greatest financial recession the country has ever seen.
We suggest that organisations and managers should look at the recently developed HMI’s “Breakthrough Programme” which has been successfully run in a number of different healthcare settings, as a vital organisational and management support, which facilities the delivery of change management initiatives. It translates strategic objectives into realistic organisation performance targets which can be achieved by critically appraising how we work, how we organise what we do and re-engineering it to achieve improved quality and higher performances.
