New Limerick Hospital part of €300 million expansion by Bons Secours

A new state-of-the art 144 bed Hospital in Limerick, new day wards in Tralee and Dublin, a new theatre in Galway and an outpatient department in Cork are planned as part of a €300 million capital investment by Bon Secours Health System Ireland’s in its 2025 Plan.

The new hospital in Limerick will be built on a 7-acre site at Ballysimon to the east of Limerick City and will replace Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barrington’s.

The development in Cork will consist of a new Outpatient Department and Radiology Unit and Breast Care Unit relocation. 

In Dublin, a new Surgical & Oncology Day Ward, Operating Theatre, off site development of Support Services, Outpatient Department and Clinics, will be provided. 

Galway will get an Additional Theatre, Theatre Sterile Store, Endoscopy Procedure Room and Minor Ops Room. 

In Tralee there will be a new Day Ward and MAU, and a major new entrance.In addition, there will be further expansion of Nursing Homes, a significant investment in an electronic patient record, information security systems and state of the art equipment across the Bon Secours Hospital System.
