The Board of Leopardstown Park Hospital, Dublin has announced the appointment of Adrian Ahern as Interim Chief Executive.

Adrian replaces Ann Marie O’Grady who has taken up the post of Chief Executive of the Irish Wheelchair Association.

Adrian brings a wealth of experience to the Chief Executive post, most recently as Director of Nursing/ Person in Charge in Leopardstown Park Hospital

He comes to the post at an exciting time in LPH, with the lodgement of planning permission for a 125 bed purpose designed hospital, refurbishment programme and service development.

Adrian, is a former General Manager with the HSE, is a Registered Nurse and has worked in various roles in the Health Services both public and private.  He holds several qualifications including an Honours Economics degree and a Masters in Health Services Management. He has been a member of many HSE working groups and is an active member of the Voluntary Health Services Risk Management Forum.

He hopes to continue the many change projects underway in LPH and is keen to continue with the Quality Improvement Culture in Leopardstown Park Hospital empowering staff in a partnership way, to reach their potential, with the aim of improving the resident experience and increasing involvement with the new Enhanced Community Care teams.

Mr. Anthony Morris, Board Chair said, “The Board are confident that Adrian will make a very positive contribution to the development of LPH and has a history of working well as part of the dedicated team at Leopardstown Park Hospital”.

“I know Adrian will work to strengthen the working relationships with all our stakeholders, HSE, HIQA, Hospital Trust etc.”

Adrian is a Council member of HMI for the past number of years.
