Bernard Gloster has been appointed CEO of TUSLA, Ireland’s State Agency for Child and Family services.
He took up the position in September 2019. Immediately prior to his appointment he was a Chief Officer in the Health Service Executive where he was responsible for all Community Healthcare provision in the Mid- West, leading the delivery of Health and Wellbeing, Primary Care, Mental Health and Social Care for both the elderly and people with a disability.
Over a 30 year career in the health service, he has worked in or managed every operational part of the health system, having held portfolios in both acute hospitals and community services. In his earlier career, he trained as a Social Care worker and has experience of both residential child care and community based child protection and welfare.
In addition to his professional social care training he holds an MBA and this year will complete an MSc degree in management practice.
