The HSE National Screening Programme BreastCheck has been awarded re-certification from the European Reference Organisation (EUREF) for Quality Assured Breast Screening and Diagnostic Services.
Their Level 4 certification is the highest level of accreditation and provides independent external reassurance of the high quality of the BreastCheck programme.
Fiona Murphy, Chief Executive Chief Executive Officer, National Screening Services at the HSE extended her “huge congratulations to the whole of the BreastCheck team for this important validation of the great work that you do.”
BreastCheck Programme Manager Suzanne Lynch thanked everyone for the collaborative effort saying “the commitment and teamwork shown has been exceptional.”
BreastCheck Clinical Director Dr Alissa Connors highlighted how certification with EUREF supports public trust and confidence in our breast screening programme. She said that “our screening participants and our staff benefit from the independent reassurance that our programme is working to a high standard.”
Awarding the re-certification, EUREF’s President Dr Chris de Wolf said it’s “a testament to BreastCheck’s continued commitment to excellence and to delivering the highest standards in breast cancer screening.”
