Empowering Future Leaders: Resilience Healthcare’s LEADx Programme and HMI’s Integral Role

At Resilience Healthcare, we recognise that investing in our team is paramount to delivering exceptional care, writes Ed O’Brien, Commercial Director, Resilience Healthcare.

As a provider of essential disability services across Ireland, we are committed to developing strong leadership within our organisation. In line with this commitment, we developed the LEADx Management Development Programme – an in-house initiative designed to cultivate leadership skills among our people.

The LEADx Programme comprises digital learning modules, covering a wide range of essential topics, including crucial people management topics, such as communication, time management and conflict resolution as well as GDPR & Sustainability in the Workplace.

At the core of the LEADx Programme, is the QQI Level 6 Managing Essentials Certification, a course provided by the Health Management Institute of Ireland (HMI). This certification offers participants a structured foundation in supervisory management, tailored specifically for the healthcare sector, approved by HIQA.

LEADx also provides Microsoft Excel Training, specific to the level required, by each individual participant in the programme, allowing each individual to work to their level within the class.

Feedback on the HMI component has been overwhelmingly positive. One participant noted,“Anne was outstanding in her delivery of the LEADx Programme, it was a fantastic learning experience, and I am already applying many of the practices in my work.”

On May 1, we proudly celebrated the graduation of 24 team members from the LEADx Programme. The event featured inspiring talks from alumni Rebekah O’Dwyer and Maria Walsh, who shared their career advancements since completing the programme last year.

The LEADx programme, with HMI’s contribution, continues to be a vital part of Resilience Healthcare’s leadership development strategy, preparing our staff to take on greater responsibilities and lead positive impactful change across our services.
