HSE CEO, Mr. Bernard Gloster visited Waterford to meet some of the 300 families who make up the Syro Malabar Catholic parish there.
They are mainly from Kerala India and the majority are nurses and healthcare workers in hospitals and community services in the South East.
Mr. Gloster, whose visit coincided with the celebration of Onam the harvest festival, said it was a great ceremony of colour and food and it was lovely to thank them for all they did for us. “They are the real story of immigration,” he said.
