The WALKways Hospital Programme at Tallaght University Hospital celebrated its sixth Graduation Ceremony in July of this year.
The 11 WALKways Graduates of 2023-2024 were joined by family, friends and work colleagues from the Hospital departments. The achievements of each trainee were recognised and celebrated as they each received their certificates. Each graduate celebrated the growth in their confidence and the commitment to learn and progress in the workplace.
Also in attendance were CEO, Lucy Nugent and Director of Human Resources, Sharon Larkin and representatives from the departments which supported placements.
The programme which started in 2017 has seen 50 trainees graduate, many have moved on to paid employment roles, some in the Hospital and elsewhere, as well as further training courses.
“This would not have been possible without the support and dedication of each of the Hospital Departments that are involved with the programme,” said a TUH spokesperson.
The passion, opportunities and commitment from Hospital Departments has provided the trainees with invaluable experience during this time. With a new year of trainees starting the programme in September, WALK and everyone in the Hospital are looking forward to welcoming new students.
