The Healthcare Systems Ergonomics and Patient Safety (HEPS) 2025 Conference will be held in Trinity College, Dubin on June 18 – 20 next year.
The triennial conference on Healthcare Systems Ergonomics and Patient Safety is endorsed by the International Ergonomics Association (IEA).
It will bring together Patient and Public Involvement, Human Factor Ergonomics expertise and healthcare practitioners to address healthcare safety.
The theme for HEPS 2025 Dublin will be Safer Better Healthcare By All For All. This theme will promote the importance of bringing together Patient and Public Involvement, HFE expertise and healthcare practitioners to solve the problem of healthcare safety.
“Safer Better Healthcare” speaks to the aim to address patient safety and a functioning health system that seeks to optimise human wellbeing (both patients and staff), system performance and safety.
“By All” speaks to the aim of inclusivity, involving all contributors (patients and carers, healthcare providers, healthcare workers, healthcare academics, decision and policy makers and regulators and HFE novices, practitioners, and academics) and all levels of healthcare (primary, secondary, and tertiary care) and “For All” speaks to the aims of access and equity.
The conference will have Healthcare Practitioner and Human Factors Ergonomics speakers and moderators from across the world including Sujoy Kar (Apollo Health, India), Mary Beth Privitera (University of Cincinnati, USA), Deliya Wesley (Mathematica, USA), Thomas Jun (Loughborough University, UK), Melissa Baysari (The University of Sydney, Australia), Susan Hallbeck (Mayo Clinic, USA) and Siri Wiig (University of Stavanger, Norway).
