Cork University Hospital (CUH) has welcomed Health Minister, Stephen Donnelly’s announcement that it will receive the highest allocation of beds as part of the state’s investment plan through 2031.
Funding was confirmed for a comprehensive campus capital plan, which includes:
- New Cancer Wards: The Glandore Development with 60 beds.
- New Children’s Acute Care Building: The Paediatric Development with 82 beds.
- First Phase of our Trauma, Acute, and Critical Care Tower: The Adult Development with over 200 beds.
- New Wards at Mallow and Bantry Hospital Sites: 24 beds each.
David Donegan, CEO of CUH, said, “This is a major milestone for the CUH Group, reflecting full governmental support for the strategic capital plan we’ve developed over the last two years. This investment will benefit everyone in the southern third of Ireland who rely on CUH as a supra-regional centre of excellence.”
