Deirdre McNamara, Director of Strategic Programmes, Office of the Chief Clinical Officer, HSE who visited Clare Island and met Prof Derek O’Keeffe and the Virtual Hospital Project Team said “It was wonderful to see digital health innovation being used as a mechanism of enhancing and developing new ways of accessing care. The Clare Island model demonstrates the capability to deliver care to patients closer to home and enables management of chronic disease in the community.”
