UPMC Sports Medicine, has opened a state-of-the-art clinic at the Mardyke Arena University College Cork.

“This expansion marks a significant milestone for UPMC Sports Medicine, as it continues to enhance its commitment to providing world-class healthcare services for athletes and active individuals alike. The new clinic is in addition to already established Sports Medicine locations in Dublin, Waterford, Kilkenny, Limerick, Tipperary, and Mayo,” said a spokesperson.

“In collaboration with the Mardyke Arena UCC, the new clinic will serve as a hub for cutting-edge sports medicine research, education, and patient care. UPMC’s partnership with Mardyke Arena UCC strengthens the connection between academia and healthcare, fostering innovation and advancing the field of sports and exercise medicine.”

Key highlights of the new UPMC Sports Medicine Clinic at Mardyke Arena UCC, include:

  • Accessible Sports Medicine Services: The clinic will offer a wide range of services, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. UPMC’s team of highly skilled sports medicine physicians, and physiotherapists will provide personalised care to athletes and active people of all levels.
  • UPMC Institute for Health: The Institute for Health is a collaborative model for patients and clinicians informed by academic research and models of preventive care developed by UPMC. The patient treatment focuses on prevention of chronic illness or measures that promote general health.
  • Advanced Diagnostic and Treatment Facilities: Equipped with the latest in medical technology, the clinic will feature cutting-edge diagnostic tools and treatment modalities to ensure accurate and effective care for sports-related injuries and conditions.
