For the first time, the HSE is appointing a Chief Social Worker. CEO Bernard Gloster said they had two key priorities – to develop the profession across all of health and social care multi- disciplinary environments/teams and the immediate priority which was a special interest in safeguarding and the full implementation of the independent report on safeguarding in the HSE.
“The author, Jackie McIlroy will review the implementation process reporting directly to me. The new CSW will also be a direct advisor to me as CEO on safeguarding issues.” He said.
