Mr. Gregory Nason, Consultant Urologist at the Mater University Hospital, Dublin performed the 1000th Robotic-assisted surgery in the hospital in September.
The Robotic Surgical Programme was launched in 2019, when as a result of the support of the Mater Hospital Foundation’s supporters across Ireland, the hospital secured a state-of-the-art Da Vinci XI robot.
The Mater said its impact had been immense, improving outcomes for cancer patients and their families, including those with prostate cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, head and neck cancer, > gynaecological cancer and liver cancer.
“The generosity and vision of the charity’s supporters made this groundbreaking programme a reality and helped the hospital team reach this important milestone.”
