Dr Caroline Whelan, former CEO of the Blackrock Clinic, has been appointed CEO of Ireland’s newest private hospital group – the Blackrock Health Group.
She leads a team of over 600 consultants, across 60 specialist areas and a total of more than 2,800 staff.
Four private healthcare facilities have been brought together to form the group.
Blackrock Health consists of the Blackrock Clinic in Dublin, the Galway Clinic, Hermitage and Limerick Clinics.
The group is chaired by Bryan Harty, also a former Chief Executive of the Blackrock Clinic.
The combined hospitals have a total of 450 inpatient beds, including 28 ICU beds and 24 operating theatres.
