Health, Minister. Stephen Donnelly TD has welcomed the launch of new and upgraded facilities at Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH), including its Ambulatory Gynaecology Suite, the Gynaecology Day Ward, and the Induction Room Delivery Suite.
There is also a major development in the Lee Road Clinic which will be the central location for regional fertility and uro-gynaecological services.
Other recent developments in CUMH include:
- Funding of €880,000 in 2021 for 9 additional posts for maternity services in CUMH to help further develop community-based midwifery, improve access to allied health professional services and supports, and improve specialist services.
- Funding to establish a Regional Fertility Hub for the South/Southwest Hospital Group, as part of the initial roll out of the Model of Care for Infertility, to provide increased access to investigations and treatments for infertility.
