A planning application has been submitted to Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for a €75 million eight- storey extension to the Beacon Hospital in Dublin.
The development will see the construction of a new 70 bed hospital extension with a new A&E facility, oncology facility and in-patient treatment rooms.
The €75 development cost includes the cost of purchasing the Beacon Hotel to allow for the expansion.
Around 400 new jobs are expected to be created on completion of the development.
