Thank you and well done!
As the end of another eventful year in the health service draws to a close, one in which the services we provide or the managers who provide them were rarely out of the spotlight, I would like to say five little words to our managers and staff. These words are rarely heard yet mean so much; to each and every manager and staff member of the health service I say “Thank you and well done!”
We are all becoming used to the fact that the media focus primarily on the negative outcomes which occur in our system, yet the very many millions of appropriate, high quality interactions which take place over the year are never reported upon, commented on or acknowledged. Yet they do take place and are carried out by a caring, quality focused and motivated staff led by highly skilled managers.
So on behalf of all those who can’t or won’t acknowledge all the good work we do, I say to you all ‘Thank you and well done!’ Keep up the good work, because next year will be an even more challenging one for us all working in the health service.
Keep up the good work, because next year will be an even more challenging one for us all working in the health service.
Also on behalf of all those associated with the Health Management Institute, I wish you and your loved ones a happy, peaceful and joyous Christmas with every good wish for 2014. It is a privilege to work in our service and be allowed enter into the lives of so many, at their greatest time of need, and this is something we cannot forget.
With best wishes,
Derek Greene
