People reacted to innovation in many different ways, Mr. Damien McCallion, Chief Technology and Transformation Officer & Deputy CEO HSE told the Conference.
He was speaking at a panel discussion on “Digital Disruption: Friend or Foe in Health and Social Care?”

Mr. McCallion said there was an innovation distribution curve, ranging from innovators and early adopters, who hailed innovation as a shiny new thing, to the early majority , who thought it looked interesting, but wondered if it was for them, then there was the late majority, who wondered what “all those weirdos” were up to and finally the laggards, who “wanted their fax machine back.”
