“Summit day on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania was achieved with a lot of pushing and encouragement from my daughter, Aoife. Truly a privilege to reach the rooftop of Africa in this wonderful country,” said Dr Henry.

“Thank you to all who have donated to the Irish Kidney Association for which I was fundraising.”

Mount Kilimanjaro is 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level, making it Africa’s highest peak. It is also the world’s highest free-standing mountain, with three volcanic cones—Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira—and covers an area of about 650 square kilometres.
