Patients in Cork and Kerry can now view their local hospital and screening appointments directly in the HSE app, making it quicker and more convenient to stay on top of their healthcare schedule.

The HSE said this has made it easier than ever for people across Cork and Kerry to manage their healthcare appointments and access trusted health information – all from their smartphone. These updates are part of the HSE’s ongoing commitment to digital innovation and improving the patient experience.

Participating Hospitals:

  • Cork University Hospital
  • Cork University Maternity Hospital
  • University Hospital Kerry
  • Mercy University Hospital
  • South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital
  • Bantry General Hospital
  • Mallow General Hospital

New Features Include:

  • BreastCheck screening appointments
  • Week-by-week healthy pregnancy information
  • Functionality to update allergy information
  • Upcoming access to the QUIT Smoking Programme

“Patients attending participating hospital or community sites will be able to view upcoming, past, and cancelled appointments in the app. Telemedicine appointments will be added in a future update,” said the HSE.

“If patients experience issues viewing their appointments, they will be directed to contact HSE Live (Freephone: 1800 700 700), who will assist in resolving the issue.”

It is planned to introduce further tools to allow patients the  ability to check referral status and waiting times and access to self-care resources for quitting smoking and managing chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease.

Dr. Andy Phillilps, REO HSE South West, said, “I am so pleased to see the development of the HSE Health App, which I use for my family. The latest updates make our services much more accessible for people in Cork and Kerry. People across our communities will be able to book their appointments much more easily and access information that guides them to our services. This helps to make good on our commitment to value our patients’ time. I encourage anyone who has not yet done so to download and use the App. I’m very interested in getting feedback on how we can keep improving it.”

Julie O’Neill, Integrated Health Area Manager Kerry, said, “The HSE Health App seeks to make healthcare more accessible, especially for people who may find it difficult to keep track of appointments or travel long distances. I welcome the inclusion of UHK and other sites in the County to the HSE app.  The app can empower people in Cork and Kerry to access reliable, localised health support – wherever you are in Kerry make sure you download the app today.”

Sonya Cotter, Integrated Health Area Manager North Cork & East Cork said,
“People in Cork can now manage their appointments with ease, and our teams are seeing how digital tools like the HSE Health App can reduce admin time and improve communication. It’s a great step forward for healthcare in the South West.”
